Use of Generative AI Policy

Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) recognizes that Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies may support authors in improving language clarity, grammar, readability, translation, data processing, coding assistance, and manuscript organization. However, the use of such tools must be conducted responsibly, transparently, and under full human supervision.

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, validity, integrity, and reliability of the submitted manuscript. Generative AI tools must not be listed as an author or co-author because authorship requires human accountability, the ability to approve the final manuscript, and responsibility for the integrity of the published work.

Authors who use Generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in preparing their manuscript must disclose the use of these tools in the manuscript. The disclosure should clearly state the name of the tool, the purpose of its use, and confirmation that the authors have reviewed, edited, verified, and taken full responsibility for the final content.

The use of Generative AI tools to fabricate data, generate false references, manipulate research results, create misleading content, or replace the author’s scientific responsibility is strictly prohibited. If AI-assisted tools are used as part of the research method, data analysis, programming, image processing, model development, visualization, or other technical processes, their use must be clearly described in the Methods section to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

Reviewers and editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts, review reports, unpublished data, and confidential editorial materials must not be uploaded to public Generative AI platforms or tools that may store, reuse, or train on such content. Any use of AI-assisted tools by reviewers or editors must not compromise confidentiality, editorial independence, or human judgment.

Editorial decisions, including acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts, remain the responsibility of the editor and must not be delegated to any AI system.

Suggested disclosure statement for authors:

“During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [name of AI tool/service] to [state the purpose]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed, edited, and verified the content as needed and take full responsibility for the content of the manuscript.”

If no Generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used, authors may state:

“The author(s) declare that no Generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the preparation of this manuscript.”
