Instructions for Authors

1. General Information

Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) publishes scholarly articles in the fields of computer science, informatics, information systems, software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, computer networks, digital technology, and other related areas.

Authors are invited to submit original research articles, applied research papers, system development studies, case studies, and review articles that contribute to the advancement of computer innovation and digital technology.

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

2. Manuscript Types

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Article
    A full-length article presenting original research findings, methods, analysis, and discussion.
  2. Review Article
    A scholarly article that critically reviews and synthesizes previous studies on a specific topic.
  3. Applied Research Article
    A manuscript presenting the application, implementation, or evaluation of computer-based systems, models, methods, or technologies.
  4. Case Study
    A detailed analysis of a specific case, system, institution, implementation, or technological problem relevant to the journal’s scope.

3. Language

Manuscripts may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. However, authors are encouraged to provide clear academic writing and ensure that the manuscript has been carefully checked for grammar, spelling, terminology, and consistency before submission.

For manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia, the title, abstract, and keywords should also be provided in English when required by the journal template.

4. Manuscript Originality

Submitted manuscripts must be original works of the author(s). The manuscript must not have been previously published in another journal, proceeding, book chapter, or other formal publication platform.

Authors must ensure that the manuscript does not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, improper authorship, or other forms of publication misconduct.

All submitted manuscripts will be checked for similarity using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts with an unacceptable similarity level may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected by the Editorial Team.

5. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be prepared according to the journal template and should generally include the following sections:

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. Avoid using uncommon abbreviations in the title.

Author Names and Affiliations

The manuscript must include the full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, and email addresses. One author must be identified as the corresponding author.

Abstract

The abstract should briefly describe the background, objective, method, main results, and conclusion of the study. The abstract should be written clearly and should not contain references, tables, figures, or undefined abbreviations.

Recommended abstract length: 150–250 words.

Keywords

Authors should provide 3–6 keywords that represent the main topic of the manuscript. Keywords should be written in English and separated by semicolons.

Example:

Artificial Intelligence; Machine Learning; Information Systems; Software Engineering; Data Mining

Introduction

The introduction should explain the background of the study, research problem, research gap, objectives, and contribution of the manuscript. The introduction should be supported by relevant and recent literature.

Method

The method section should describe the research design, dataset or data source, tools, system architecture, algorithm, model, procedures, evaluation metrics, and analysis techniques used in the study.

The description should be detailed enough to allow other researchers to understand or replicate the study.

Results and Discussion

This section should present the research findings clearly and objectively. Tables, figures, graphs, screenshots, or diagrams may be used to support the explanation.

The discussion should interpret the results, compare them with previous studies, explain the significance of the findings, and highlight the contribution of the study.

Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the main findings, answer the research objectives, and explain the contribution of the study. Authors may also include limitations and suggestions for future research.

Acknowledgment

Acknowledgments may be included to recognize funding support, institutional support, technical assistance, or individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria.

References

All references cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the text.

Authors are encouraged to use recent and relevant references, especially journal articles, conference papers, books, and other scholarly sources.

6. Manuscript Formatting

Authors must use the official INOKOM manuscript template when preparing their submission.

General formatting requirements:

  • Manuscript file format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Paper size: A4
  • Manuscript length: preferably 6–15 pages, including tables, figures, and references
  • Font, margin, spacing, heading style, table format, and citation style must follow the journal template
  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text
  • Figures must be clear, readable, and have adequate resolution
  • Equations must be written clearly and numbered when necessary

7. Citation and Reference Style

References should follow the citation style required by the journal template. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure consistency.

References should prioritize recent scholarly publications, especially journal articles and conference proceedings relevant to the topic.

Authors must ensure that every in-text citation has a corresponding entry in the reference list.

8. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be placed close to the text where they are first mentioned. Each table and figure must have a clear title or caption.

Tables should be editable and not inserted as images. Figures, diagrams, screenshots, and graphs must be clear and readable.

Authors must obtain permission for any copyrighted table, figure, image, or material reproduced from other sources.

9. Ethical Requirements

Authors must follow the principles of publication ethics. By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM), authors confirm that:

  1. The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  2. The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
  3. All listed authors have made significant contributions to the work.
  4. All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  5. The manuscript does not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices.
  6. Any conflict of interest has been disclosed.
  7. Any funding source or research support has been properly acknowledged.

10. Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, or writing of the manuscript.

All authors must agree to the submission and publication of the manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version before submission.

Changes to authorship after submission must be approved by all authors and accepted by the Editorial Team.

11. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, academic, institutional, personal, or other relationships that may influence the research, interpretation, or publication of the manuscript.

If there is no conflict of interest, authors may include the following statement:

The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript.

12. Research Data and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to provide sufficient detail about datasets, methods, algorithms, tools, and experimental procedures used in the study.

Where appropriate, authors may provide access to datasets, source code, models, instruments, or supplementary materials to support transparency and reproducibility.

If the data cannot be shared due to privacy, ethical, institutional, or legal restrictions, authors should explain the reason in the manuscript.

13. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors may use artificial intelligence tools to support language editing, grammar checking, formatting, or technical assistance. However, AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of the submitted manuscript. Any use of AI tools that significantly contributes to the writing, analysis, or content generation should be disclosed in the manuscript when relevant.

14. Submission Procedure

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system.

Before submission, authors should ensure that:

  1. The manuscript follows the journal template.
  2. The manuscript is within the journal’s focus and scope.
  3. The manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  4. The manuscript has been checked for grammar, formatting, and references.
  5. All author information and metadata are complete.
  6. Tables, figures, and references are properly formatted.
  7. The similarity level is acceptable according to the journal policy.

Submissions that do not follow the journal guidelines may be returned to the authors before peer review.

15. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) will undergo an initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that pass this stage will be reviewed through an anonymous peer review process.

Each manuscript will be evaluated by reviewers with expertise relevant to the topic. The final editorial decision is based on reviewer recommendations, manuscript quality, originality, relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, methodological soundness, and compliance with publication ethics.

Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accepted
  • Accepted with minor revision
  • Major revision required
  • Rejected

16. Revision

Authors who receive revision requests must revise their manuscript according to the comments and suggestions from reviewers and editors.

The revised manuscript should be submitted together with a response explaining how each comment has been addressed.

Failure to submit the revised manuscript within the specified time may result in withdrawal or rejection of the submission.

17. Copyright and License

Authors retain the copyright of their published articles and grant Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) the right of first publication.

All articles published in Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

This license allows users to share, copy, distribute, remix, transform, and build upon the published work for noncommercial purposes only, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the source is properly cited, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

18. Article Processing Charge

Information regarding article processing charges, submission fees, publication fees, or any other author fees must be clearly stated on the journal website.

Authors should read the journal’s Article Processing Charge policy before submitting their manuscript.

19. Withdrawal Policy

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript by submitting a written request to the Editorial Team with clear reasons.

Manuscripts that have entered the peer review, editing, or production stage should not be withdrawn without valid academic or ethical reasons.
