Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing publication malpractice. This statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
Duties of Editors
The editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, scientific quality, clarity, contribution to the field, and compliance with ethical standards.
Editors must evaluate manuscripts objectively without discrimination based on the authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, political views, or other personal characteristics. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information about a manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the written consent of the author. Editors are also responsible for managing conflicts of interest and ensuring that manuscripts are handled fairly and transparently.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. Reviewers should conduct the review process objectively, constructively, and within the agreed timeframe.
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not share, discuss, or use the manuscript content for personal advantage. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and report any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, or other ethical concerns to the editor.
Reviewers must decline the review invitation if they have a conflict of interest with the authors, institutions, or research described in the manuscript.
Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original, accurate, and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Authors are responsible for presenting their research honestly and transparently, including the methods, data, analysis, results, and conclusions.
Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and cite all relevant sources. Plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate submission, redundant publication, and misleading statements are strictly prohibited.
All individuals listed as authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and manuscript preparation. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission for publication. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or other conflicts of interest that may influence the research or interpretation of the findings. Authors are also required to report any significant errors or inaccuracies discovered after submission or publication and cooperate with the editor to correct or retract the article when necessary.
Plagiarism and Originality
Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) requires all submitted manuscripts to be original. Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection tools. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism, excessive similarity, duplicate publication, or unethical reuse of previously published work may be rejected or retracted, depending on the stage of publication.
Data Fabrication and Falsification
Authors must not fabricate, falsify, or manipulate data, research procedures, images, results, or references. Any suspected data manipulation or scientific misconduct will be investigated by the editorial team. If misconduct is confirmed, the manuscript may be rejected, corrected, or retracted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Manuscripts that have been published elsewhere or are under consideration by another journal will not be accepted. Redundant publication or inappropriate republication of the same research is considered unethical publishing behavior.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the objectivity of the publication process. Conflicts of interest may include financial relationships, institutional connections, academic competition, personal relationships, or other relevant interests.
Corrections, Retractions, and Withdrawal
Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections may be issued when significant errors are identified in a published article. Retractions may be issued in cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, ethical misconduct, duplicate publication, or unreliable findings.
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before publication by providing a clear reason to the editorial office. Once an article has been published, withdrawal or removal will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and in accordance with publication ethics principles.
Publisher’s Responsibilities
The publisher of Jurnal Inovasi Komputer (INOKOM) supports the editorial team in maintaining publication ethics, ensuring editorial independence, protecting the integrity of published content, and preventing unethical publishing practices. The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions and is committed to ensuring that all published articles meet ethical and academic standards.
Ethical Oversight
The journal takes allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously. Any suspected ethical violation will be reviewed by the editorial team. The journal may contact authors, reviewers, institutions, or other relevant parties to clarify the matter. Appropriate actions may include rejection, correction, retraction, notification to institutions, or other measures necessary to protect the integrity of the publication process.
